In May, Global Semiconductor Sales Surged 21% Over The Same Period Last Year, With An Increase Of 28.5% In China.

Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) announced 2, global semiconductor sales in May 2018 was US $38 billion 700 million. Compared with the previous month, sales increased by 3% in May. Compared with the same period last year, sales surged by 21%.

John Neuffer, President and chief executive of SIA, points out that the annual growth of the global semiconductor market has increased by more than 20% in 14 consecutive months. In May, there was a new record high for a single month. The Americas are once again leading, with an annual growth rate of over 30%, and sales of all kinds of major semiconductor products have increased year by month.

Looking at each region, compared with the same period last year, American sales increased by 31.6% in May, China increased by 28.5%, Europe increased by 18.7%, Japan increased by 14.7%, and Asia Pacific / other regions increased by 8.7%.

Compared with the previous month, China's monthly growth rate was 6.3%, Japan's monthly growth rate was 2.6%, Asia and other regions increased by 1.2%, America's monthly growth rate was 1.1%, and Europe's monthly growth rate was

1%.
